Lao Tag Game – Lao Pride

by cubiclejot on December 2, 2009

I’ve been spending a lot time recently combing through social networking sights Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.  What I found within all these social networking sights is that the online Lao community is screaming out, “Unity, Cultural Identity, Lao Pride,”  it’s happening and it’s very exciting!  Kon Lao everywhere in the United States and abroad are finding that no matter where we have settled, after fleeing Laos due to war and communist takeover, we are all still very connected and social networking is helping us reunite.  Social networking has made it easier for us to share experiences, make freinds and learn from one another. Even the younger generation Lao are  showing their love for Lao culture, identity and Lao Pride.  Circulating through Youtube is a game called, “The Lao Tag Game.”

Rules:
1) If you’re tagged you have to play.
2) after you play, go tag several of your friends.

Questions:
1) When was the last time you were in Laos?
2) Name 1 Lao dish you enjoy the most? why?
3) Name 1 Lao household item that best resembles our culture.
4) Do you speak Lao? If so say a phrase or two.
5) Which part of Lao are you from?
6) Do you have a tattoo of “Lao” or a “Three Headed Elephant” somewhere on your body??

There have been hundreds of posts with some really creative and entertaining responses. One of my favorite Lao Tag Game, Youtube post was made by Big Phil.  He has a dirty mouth, but Big Phil loves being Lao, especially when it comes to Lao food.  Big Phil keeping it real and living LAOd!
